PhD position in high-pressure research on nanostructured materials
The Division of Physics at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) invites highly motivated students with a background in physics/materials science to apply for a PhD studentship to carry out research on nanostructured materials in experimental high-pressure Materials Physics. The position is available immediately and is initially for three years with possible extension for up to 4 years contingent on funding availability.
The Division of Physics at LTU has on-going research programs spanning broad research areas from theoretical particle physics and astrophysics to condensed matter physics/materials physics (biophysics, nanostuctured materials, surface physics, theory of superconductivity, band structure in semiconductors). Since its establishment in 2002 the High-pressure spectroscopy group at the Division of Physics is growing and focuses its research efforts on synthesis, characterization and studies of physical properties of carbon-based nanostructured materials (polymeric fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and their composites) at high pressure using a diamond anvil cell (DAC).
For further information about the Division of Physics, LTU and the research group please contact Prof. Alexander Soldatov, phone 0920 49 11 36, e-mail alexander.soldatov@ltu.se or visit our web pages:

Interested candidates should submit their applications marked with reference number 1045-08 and including CV and university transcripts (tests/grades record) to the Registrar, Luleå University of Technology, 971 87 Luleå or by e-mail to registrator@ltu.se.
The position is available immediately but applications will be accepted and given full consideration until the position is filled.
