FELLOWSHIPS AVAILABLE TO APPLICANTS IN Ph.D. PROGRAM ON “MATERIALS FOR HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, AND ENERGY"
To whom it may concern: Every year, the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” – a prime research Institution internationally recognized – sponsors a limited number of fellowships for foreign students applying for a PhD degree in engineering and material science. Fellowships are limited and assigned on a competitive basis. We are currently considering students wishing to enroll in our Ph.D. program on Materials For Health, Environment, And Energy (code R90) at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply and preliminary inquire with Prof. Silvia Licoccia (licoccia@uniroma2.it) and Dr. Antonio Rinaldi (antonio.rinaldi@gmail.com).
Desired candidates should have an inclination (or willingness) towards experimental activities and the abilityto work in a strongly multicultural environment. They should also hold degrees in either Material Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent. Participants worldwide must apply by the 25 May 2009.

Successful applicants are expected to begin the doctorate in Fall 2009 and work on a number of projects in several areas, such as for example: · design and characterization of materials for Fuel Cells (e.g. SOFC, PEM, MFC) ; · chemical and electrochemical sensors for environmental monitoring ; · materials for tissue engineering ; · nanostructured materials .
